Wonder show from Jones

Pwllheli were rusty after a three week break prior to which they had won 4 of their previous 5 games, and were resoundly beaten at Mochdre. Adam Jones made light work of the target hitting six sixes in his 90 as the home team coasted to victory in just 20 overs. Pwllheli skipper Keith Dabson used seven bowlers in an attempt to break the opening stand and it took 12-year-old Osian Williams to grab Jones's scalp with just 6 runs needed for victory. The other bowlers were off-colour although Wes Pengelly bowled economically. Again dropped catches were disappointing as Jones was put down at least 6 times.

Earlier Pwllheli had totallled what appeared a competitive 126 from their 45 overs, mainly thanks to a fine 38 from Ben Dabson and 21 from opener Ian Evans, although the later batsmen could not push on from a position of 101 for 4 in the 35th over. Again superstar Jones grabbed 5 wickets for 25 runs from his 12 overs.

In the bar...skipper Dabson... "next weekend are two games against the teams next to us in the league which should be good close affairs......everyone has been called to nets this Tuesday, if it stops raining!"
